a paying member at Shutterppoint.com, i must warn
anyone looking into selling their photography
online to stay away from Shutterpoint.com! They
have a management team that are unprofessional
and prone to rash and unbusinesslike behavior.

There
is a significant key advantage that this type of
site has (probably the only one), if you have someone
who is interested in purchasing a photos from you,
you could pop it onto shutterpoint and get the customer
to go and buy it from them (i.e. they deal with
the transaction, download etc. I've been in the
situation a few years ago where someone has seen
an image on my blog and I've had to try to sell
it to them by asking them to send money to paypal
- customer lost!
It might work for some people,
there are some good pay for upload space sites
available, but i don't really think this is one
of them.

Although
cosmetically the site looks great and enticing,
beneath lies all the problems. I would not recommend
this site to anyone, they are more interested
in selling space to anyone with a phonecamera
and making a profit then presenting your images
to buyers. Quantity is the rule of thumb instead
of quality; oh, there are some very fine images
on the site, but you have to wade through hundreds
of mediocre and 'snapshot' images to get to the
good ones.
